Ripple – Crypto Large Cap

Ripple is under Algo Engine buy conditions and is up 234% after being added into our Crypto Large Cap model portfolio in Sep 2020.

Ripple is a real-time gross settlement, currency exchange and remittance network created by Ripple Labs Inc, a US-based technology company. Released in 2012, Ripple is built upon a distributed open-source protocol and supports tokens representing fiat currency, cryptocurrency, commodities, or other units of value such as frequent flier miles or mobile minutes.

Ripple purports to enable “secure, instantly and nearly free global financial transactions of any size with no chargebacks”. The ledger employs the native cryptocurrency known as XRP.

Sunrise Energy – Speculative Buy

Sunrise Energy Metals is progressing its world-class Sunrise Battery Materials Complex in New South Wales.

The Sunrise Project is one of the largest and most cobalt-rich nickel laterite deposits in the world and is development-ready, with all key permits and approvals in place.  Sunrise is also one of the largest and highest grade scandium deposits globally.

The company requires a funding solution, (or JV partnership), to continue the development of the Sunrise project and we expect to hear news on this front within 6 – 9 months.

SRL is a high risk, high reward speculative opportunity, however, we feel the risks are skewed to the upside and traders may wish to run a stop loss on a break below $1.60

Nickel Mines – Nickel Price Volatility

Nickel Mines is a nickel miner, and pig iron producer focused on several Indonesian projects in partnership with the world’s largest stainless-steel maker Tsingshan.

The share price fall is related to uncertainty regarding its JV partner Tsingshan. LME Nickel price volatility spiked, with prices doubling from $45/kg to >US$100/kg before trading was suspended. The news suggests a large nickel producer facing margin calls on nickel derivative losses caused a short squeeze due to Russian supply disruption and limited spot inventory. China’s Tsingshan is reported to be the entity with exposure.
